Massage is known as a healing art and massage therapy is defined as the systematic manipulation of soft tissue. Massage can enhance general health and vitality, while the use of specialized methods can coax tension from muscles, ease stiff joints, reduce pain, and promote healthy circulation. Depending on the technique used, massage can be stimulating or relaxing. Tense muscles cause sluggish circulation. Massage relaxes the muscle and stimulatescirculation so that blood flows freely, carrying oxygen and nutrients to where they are needed.
